American Express Platinum’s 2025 travel perks just got better. Cardholders now enjoy expanded lounge access along with new bonus categories that boost everyday spending rewards.

These updates make the Amex Platinum especially appealing for frequent travelers who want to relax before flights and earn more points in key spending areas. It’s a solid move to enhance value without complicating things.

Expanded Lounge Network For Frequent Flyers

Amex Platinum now provides access to over 1,400 lounges worldwide through the Global Lounge Collection. This includes Centurion Lounges, Plaza Premium Lounges, and select Lufthansa locations. Delta Sky Club visits become limited in February 2025.

The post below reminds cardholders that lounge access requires enrollment through their Amex account. Managing benefits through the Amex app helps track lounge eligibility and other perks:

New Centurion Lounge openings in Newark, Salt Lake City, and Tokyo expand options for travelers seeking comfort between flights.

Updated Bonus Categories For Travel Spending

The Amex Platinum still offers 5x Membership Rewards® points on flights booked directly with airlines or through Amex Travel. This also applies to prepaid hotels through Amex Travel.

U.S. rideshares and transit earn 1x points, but the up to $200 annual Uber Cash credit adds value for both rides and Uber Eats.

For those preferring an upfront bonus, the Amex Gold Card now offers up to 100,000 Membership Rewards® points. The tweet below highlights this limited-time offer:

Limited-Time Airline Offers for Extra Travel Rewards

Amex Platinum cardholders can unlock extra value through targeted Amex Offers. These limited-time deals often focus on flights, providing bonus points or discounts.

One current offer awards 20,000 Membership Rewards® points after spending $1,000 on Air France and KLM flights. Eligible bookings must be made by September 30, 2025, through the airlines’ U.S. websites.

Cardholders need to activate offers in their Amex account before purchasing. The tweet below highlights how these deals boost travel rewards:

Hi, my name is Jodie Price and I have been a flight attendant for the past four years. Before that, I was a teacher at a local school. During my summer vacations from teaching, I loved to jet off on an exciting adventure whenever I could. But the flights stressed me and my friends out so much that we almost stopped vacationing altogether. Would another form of transportation be easier?
